この度BnA Alter Museumでは、System of Culture 個展「そして、すれ違った Exhibit 5」を開催致します。

2017年より活動を開始し、絵画や映画、ドラマよりインスピレーションを受け、演出により構成される"作られた"写真の制作を行うSystem of Culture (小松利光、佐々木祐真)が、今回新作となるシリーズとしての作品群を発表致します。
本展覧会にて彼らは、あるシーンを撮影によって切り取るという写真本来の仕組みが、その前後のシーンを示唆しつつも無数の接続可能性を持つことに着目し、写真固有の物語生成についての考察と制作を行います。

彼らの"作られた"写真の持つ細密で不可解なイメージが、展覧会というまとまりの中でイメージ同士のいくつかの接続可能性とその生成へと思考を促します。

2017年、京都造形芸術大学通信教育学部・写真コースを卒業。2023年、京都芸術大学大学院・芸術研究科芸術専攻修了、博士(学術)。京都造形芸術大学在学時より制作活動を開始。アナログプロセスからプログラミングによる新たな写真術の開発までを射程に、写真というメディアを「エネルギーの可視化」の表現ツールとしてきた。国内外の展覧会にて作品を提示。現在は写真というメディアのコンテンポラリーアート領域における表現可能性に対する関心から京都芸術大学大学院にて「POST/PHOTOGRAPHY（ポスト・フォトグラフィ）」をテーマに研究。写真の拡張をウイルス的なものとして捉え、「写真変異株」という概念にて論じ、制作を並走させる。

BnA Alter Museum will host the System of Culture solo exhibition “Exhibit 5 -Then, passe over”. System of Culture (Toshimitsu Komatsu and Yuma Sasaki), which started their works in 2017 creating ”Crafted” photographs by staging, will be showcasing/announcing a new series of works for this exhibition.
In this exhibition, by cutting out a particular scene through photography they will try to create multiple images(story), with the specialty of photography where an image can suggest the before and after of the scenes taken which makes a storyline.
The repetition of mysterious and detailed images from the “Crafted” photograph will guide you to think about the multiple possibilities and how they are formed.
*This exhibition is a part of KG+ 2023, a satellite event of KYOTOGRAPHIE Kyoto International Photography Festival.

System of Culture
武蔵野美術大学 視覚伝達デザイン学科卒。日常の気づきを元に、絵画や映画等をインスピレーションに構築される “作られた” 写真である。現代社会を客観的に見つめ、シニカルに淡々と意味深な瞬間を作り出し、日常において私達にささやかな視点の転換を投げかけている。2021年「JAPAN PHOTO AWARD 2021」 Patricia Karallis賞受賞。2022年「VOCA展2022」上野の森美術館

This Tokyo-based unit started in 2017 and consists of two members, Toshimitsu Komatsu and Sukezane Sasaki. They both graduated from Musashino Art University’s Department of Visual Communication Design, and collaborate equally on all of their works.
