【Important】Notice of Revision to Kyoto City Accommodation Tax Rates

Based on the Kyoto City Accommodation Tax Ordinance, an accommodation tax has been in effect since October 1, 2018. Due to a revision of this ordinance, the accommodation tax rates will be revised for stays from March 1, 2026 onward.

■Previous rates (for stays until February 28, 2026)
Less than JPY 20,000: JPY 200
JPY 20,000 to less than JPY 50,000: JPY 500
JPY 50,000 or more: JPY 1,000

■Revised rates (for stays from March 1, 2026)
Less than JPY 6,000: JPY 200
JPY 6,000 to less than JPY 20,000: JPY 400
JPY 20,000 to less than JPY 50,000: JPY 1,000
JPY 50,000 to less than JPY 100,000: JPY 4,000
JPY 100,000 or more: JPY 10,000

*The revised tax rates apply to all stays with check-in on or after March 1, 2026, regardless of the reservation date or payment timing. *For stays spanning the revision date, the applicable tax rate will be applied to each night accordingly. *The accommodation tax is calculated based on the room rate per person per night, excluding consumption tax and meal charges.
The accommodation tax is not included in the room rate and must be paid separately at the property upon check-in.

【重要】京都市宿泊税 税率改定のお知らせ

京都市では、「京都市宿泊税条例」に基づき、2018年10月1日より宿泊税が導入されております。このたび同条例の改定に伴い、2026年3月1日（日）ご宿泊分より宿泊税の税率が変更となりますので下記の通りご案内申し上げます。

■ 改定前（2026年2月28日までのご宿泊）
20,000円未満：200円
20,000円以上50,000円未満：500円
50,000円以上：1,000円

■ 改定後（2026年3月1日以降のご宿泊）
6,000円未満：200円
6,000円以上20,000円未満：400円
20,000円以上50,000円未満：1,000円
50,000円以上100,000円未満：4,000円
100,000円以上：10,000円

※本改定は、ご予約日やご宿泊料金のお支払い時期にかかわらず、2026年3月1日以降にチェックインされるすべてのご宿泊が対象となります。 ※改定日をまたいで連泊される場合は、改定日前後それぞれの日程に応じた税率が適用されます。 ※宿泊料金（1名様1泊あたり）に応じ、税区分は現行の3区分から5区分へ変更されます。 ※宿泊税は、消費税や食事代等を除いた素泊まり料金に対して課税されます。
なお、ご宿泊料金には宿泊税は含まれておりません。
チェックイン時に、現地にて別途お支払いをお願いしております。

On the ceiling, there is a garden here we share the space between sleep and awake.

Mr. X's Sleep Garden:
Us, the nobodies, cross (X) paths.
The man who knows the X better than anyone, continues to welcome us.
No one has seen Mr. X. nor heard his voice.
Only in that room is there a sense of his presence.
He falls asleep once every 5.67 billion years.
It is then that he appears in the REM sleep garden.
This garden often appears during our REM sleep.
Mr. X can't be met, but we all share his garden.
The garden you look at, in between sleep and awake, is the garden he looks down on from the other side, for the first time in 5.67 billion years.
Mr. X never meets anyone, that is why he stares into the garden longer than anyone else.

クリエイティブラボASITA_ROOMの主人、Mr.Xの寝室として生まれた部屋。
天井には彼と私たちが夢うつつの中で共に眺める“ 庭 ”が表現されている。

［Mr.Xの現な庭］：何者でもない私たちは今この時、交差(X)する。
その交差(X)を最も知っている男Mr.Xが私達を引き合わせ続ける。
Mr.Xは誰もその姿を見たことがない。その声すら聞いたこともない。
ただその部屋には彼の立ち去った気配だけが存在し残響のように私達を内包する。
彼は56億7千万年に一度眠りにつく。その際現れるのが「現な庭(Remの庭)」である。
この庭は私達がRem睡眠の際にも度々現れる。
Mr.Xと会うことはできないが彼と同じ庭を共有している。
今、うつつの中あなたが眺めているその庭は 彼も裏側から56億7千年ぶりに眺めている庭なのです。
Mr.Xは決して 誰とも会うことができない、だからこそ誰よりもその庭を見つめるのです。

Deeply inspired by the Japanese aesthetic sensibilities in Junichiro Tanizaki’s "In Praise of Shadows", Sai is enamored with the relationship between architecture and the five senses. Through the five senses he considers the space reverberating between place and emotion, the start of his artistic process. Using people’s emotion as a motif, embossed installations emerge. The installations, depending on the light, allow one to recall the emotions left in the depths of their memory, left in the shadows.

京都を拠点に活動。谷崎潤一郎の陰翳礼讃で示された日本人独特の美意識からインスピレーションを受けて以来、建築と五感、感情の関係性に深く興味を持っている。版表現で五感を通じて、場所と感情の間に存在する余韻を考察し続けている。視覚で捉えた物より、触覚で捉えた物の方が心に焼きつくと考え、人の感情をモチーフにしたembossに実際に触れるインスタレーションを制作・発表している。これらの空間作品は、人の記憶の深淵に留まる感情を、実際に触れる質や翳により想起させる装置でもあり、つまりは、陰翳により人の「琴線にふれる」空間を目指している。
