The exhibition " Yes,I'm seeing, Baby." is made by 4 series about human's sense of sight.
The action of seeing or Sense of sight are doing without
Our body, organs, and cells breath, move our heart and circulate blood and oxygen around our body, sweat, and other SEIMEIKATSUDOU in the level that does not rise to our consciousness. I feel that the act of "looking" and eye-sight is being done the same, automatically. In this exhibition, 10-15 pieces of artwork created through the process of ...we take "peeking our world from within the painting" "A stick that damages the satisfaction of sculpture" "video of washing the screen from the opposite side of the monitor" . Through these artworks, I hope to provide confusion to observers's eye sight and congini??

「ああ、 わたしは　見ているよ　ベイべ」は、人間の視覚や認識をテーマに制作した4つのシリーズの作品から構成される展覧会です。私たちの身体や各器官、細胞は日ごろ、息をしたり、心臓を動かし血液とともに酸素を全身に運んだり、汗をかいたり、その他様々な生命活動を意識に上らないレベルで坦々と行っています。同じように「視る」という行為や、視覚についても、多くの場合自動的にその活動が行われているように、私には感じられます。今回の展示では「絵画の内側から私たちのいる世界ををのぞき込む視点」、「彫刻の充足感を毀損させる棒」、「モニターの向こう側から画面を洗う映像」といった美術作品でおなじみの視覚メディアをメタ的に捉え、考察して制作された作品が10～15点展示されます。これらの作品を通して、ささやかで奇妙な混乱を、私を含めた鑑賞者の視覚や認識にもたらすことができればと思っています。

  • About Artist

    Mitsuo Maruhashi
    Born in 1982.
    2008 Graduated from Hiroshima City University, Department of Sculpture.
    2010 Completed the master's program at Hiroshima City University.
    He works on the themes of human “sight” and “recognition”. Major solo exhibitions include “I ’m seeing, baby.” (7T Gallery, Daegu, 2017) and “Im Seeing, Baby” (Hiroshima Arts Center, 2017).

    1982年生まれ。2008年 広島市立大学芸術学部彫刻専攻卒業。2010年 広島市立大学大学院博士前期課程彫刻専攻修了。人間の「視覚」や「認識」をテーマに作品を制作している。主な個展に「I’m seeing, baby.」（7T Gallery、大邱、2017）、「アイム・シーイング、ベイべ」（広島芸術センター、2017）。主なグループ展に「開館30周年記念特別展　美術館の七燈」（広島市現代美術館、2019）、「対馬アートファンタジア2018」（厳原町各所、対馬市、2018）、「テレポーティング・ランドスケープ」（アートギャラリー・ミヤウチ、広島、2017）、「Gorgissimo!」（Réunion、チューリッヒ、2015）、「SUNDOWNER」（CIRCUIT21、テキサス、2014）、「GAMEX」（在メキシコ日本大使館、メキシコシティ、2014）など。
